Information from tapes talking to CoMai Craver Wilson 1980: The first record for Johannes is as a sponsor to a baptism in 1735. He died in East Greenbush, Rensselaer County, New York between 1810 and 1819 and judging from the birthdate of his first grandchild in 1757, he was married about 1756. Putting this all together, he must have been quite young when he came over, being about 15 in 1735. He was about 36 when he married and in his 60's when he fought under General VanRensselaer in the American Revolutionary War. Besides John Jr. he had several sons. |
