| Leben & Wirken (Englisch) |
My Grandfather on my Father's side was married to Sarah and the six living children were by her. There was a previous family by my Grandfather in Europe and after he absconded from the continent to get to England, they came to England. I don't know how many there were of them, but they were called "The Schusters". I think they took up the same occupation as my Grandfather and his son's had. That was making waistcoats in a small workshop at the back of the house in Lancaster Road. The waistcoats were sold at a price of two shillings and sixpence. Sarah committed suicide when my Father was about 14 years old. My Father, Victor Ross, was born (1900) in a Muse at the top of Lancaster Road where it meets Portabello Road (Market). [1] |
